Exogenous Hemin Confers Cadmium Tolerance by Decreasing Cadmium Accumulation and Modulating Water Status and Matter Accumulation in Maize Seedlings

چکیده
Cadmium (Cd) contamination harms plant growth and human health. The application of hemin (ferroprotoporphyrin IX) can effectively relieve abiotic stresses in plants. This work investigates the effects on alleviating Cd toxicity enhancing tolerance maize seedlings. In this study, seedlings were cultivated nutrient solutions, with a combination CdCl2 (464 ?mol L?1) (100 L?1). We measured status, water concentration, distribution results indicated that stress increased accumulation plants inhibited growth. However, alleviated inhibition improved balance, root morphology, vitality under stress. Additionally, 2,4-dihydroxy-7-methoxy-1,4-benzoxazin-3-one (DIMBOA), total phenolic content, phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) activity to enhance Hemin reduced translocation factor (TF), bioconcentration (BCF) Furthermore, concentrations cell wall soluble fraction seedling roots, which helped reduce transport from shoot. summary, exogenous could be used for adverse impacts induced by

Abscisic acid accumulation and cadmium tolerance in rice seedlings
doi: 10.1111/j.1399-3054.2005.00490.x Rice (Oryza sativa L.) seeds were soaked for 18 h in distilled water in the absence (–PBZ) or presence (þPBZ, a triazole) of 100 mg l 1 paclobutrazol and then air dried. These air-dried seeds were germinated in the dark and then cultivated in a Phytotron. Twelve-day-old –PBZ and þPBZ seedlings were treated or not with CdCl2. Cd toxicity was judged by the de...
متن کاملEffect of Calcium and Cadmium on Growth and Accumulation of Cadmium, Calcium, Potassium and Sodium in Maize Seedlings
we examined cadmium (0.1 mmol/l) toxicity and effect of different calcium concentrations (0.1, 1.0, and 10.0 mmol/l) on the growth of organs (root, mesocotyl and coleoptile) of 4-day-old maize seedlings in hydroponic cultures. The influence of both metals on distribution of cadmium, calcium, potassium and sodium in the organs of maize seedlings was also studied. Calcium at a concentration of 1....
متن کاملMicroRNA390 Is Involved in Cadmium Tolerance and Accumulation in Rice
Cadmium (Cd) is a non-essential heavy metal that is toxic to plants. microRNAs (miRNAs) are 21-nucleotide RNAs that are ubiquitous regulators of gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. Several plant miRNAs, such as miR390, have vital roles in plant growth, development and responses to environmental stresses including heavy metal stress. In this study, the expression of mature miR390 ...
متن کاملTonoplast-localized Abc2 transporter mediates phytochelatin accumulation in vacuoles and confers cadmium tolerance
Phytochelatins mediate tolerance to heavy metals in plants and some fungi by sequestering phytochelatin-metal complexes into vacuoles. To date, only Schizosaccharomyces pombe Hmt1 has been described as a phytochelatin transporter and attempts to identify orthologous phytochelatin transporters in plants and other organisms have failed. Furthermore, recent data indicate that the hmt1 mutant accum...
